THE FISH

The moon plunged her feet into the warm water of the river. Small fish drew near to nibble her fingers. She raised her leg sharply, then caught in flight one of the fish who had hung on to her big toe. It was her way of fishing. She held out the wriggling animal to her brother, the sun. He smiled and put the fish to fry upon his chest ; then shared it with his sister. Together, they ate and savoured it.
— How the earth’s fruits are good, he says !
— It is the warmth of your heart that is good , she said.
